CD-Review: Eva Zöllner – voces, señales

Eva Zöllner – voces, señales

“A real treasure on the album for me is "Brother" by Natalia Valencia Zuluaga. It embodies the desire for humanity and empathy in society that arises as a result of Colombia's problematic and painful history. Eva Zöllner's playing is small and intimate, drawing me closer as a listener and managing to play the many-second intervals not as a conflictual field of tension but as hopeful and forward-looking. The bright, light-flooded harmonies towards the end of the piece come across like watercolor paintings, in which dissonances form opposing solid poles, but never lead to gloom.”
